EatStack ("EatStack", "we", "us", or "our") operates the EatStack mobile application and related services (the "App"), a multi-shop food ordering and shop-management platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who this policy covers
EatStack serves two types of users, and we collect different information for each:
- Customers — people who browse shops and place food orders.
- Shopkeepers / shop staff — people who register a shop and manage it through the Owner, Counter, and Kitchen panels.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
| Data | When collected | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number (with country code) | When a customer signs in / places an order | Required for customers |
| Name and delivery address | Saved when you place your first order | Required to fulfil an order |
| Email address | If you choose to add or verify an email for your profile | Optional |
| Username and password | When a shopkeeper registers a shop account | Required for shopkeepers |
| Order details | Items, quantities, notes, and order history when you order | Required to process orders |
| Ratings and reviews | If you rate or review a shop after an order | Optional |
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Approximate / precise location — only if you enable it, to set your delivery point (see Section 4).
- Device and usage data — basic technical information needed to operate the App and keep it secure (e.g. app version, and diagnostic data such as crash reports).
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your customer or shopkeeper account.
- Show you shops and products, and let you place and track orders.
- Route your order to the correct shop and its Counter, Kitchen, and Owner panels.
- Deliver your order to the address or location you provide.
- Verify a customer purchased from a shop before showing your rating/review.
- Send order-related and account-related communications.
- Verify your email address, where you choose to add one.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Location information
Location is optional. The App may ask for your device location only to make setting your delivery point easier — for example, to drop a delivery pin near you. You can decline location access and still use the App by entering your address manually. If you set a delivery pin, that location is shared with the shop and its delivery rider so your order can reach you. You can change your location permission at any time in your device settings.
5. How we share information
We share your information only as needed to run the service:
- With the shop you order from — the shop and its staff receive the details necessary to prepare and deliver your order (such as your name, phone number, delivery address, delivery pin, and order contents).
- With delivery personnel — the assigned rider receives the delivery address and, if provided, your delivery pin and contact number.
- With payment providers — when you pay online, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider (see Section 6).
- With service providers — hosting and infrastructure providers that operate our servers on our behalf.
- For legal reasons — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and EatStack.
Each shop is responsible for the customer data it receives to fulfil its own orders. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Payments
Online payments are handled by a third-party payment gateway (for example, EasyPaisa). When you pay online, your payment is processed by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy. EatStack does not store your full card or wallet credentials on its servers; we receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded or failed, together with a transaction reference, so we can update your order.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, keep records of transactions, and comply with our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data as described in Section 9.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls that keep each shop's data isolated to that shop. Shopkeeper passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction — you can view and update your profile details in the App.
- Location — you can turn location permission on or off in your device settings.
- Email — adding or verifying an email is optional; you may remove it.
- Account and data deletion — you can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time from our Account Deletion page, or by emailing us (Section 12). To protect you, we verify each request — usually by a phone call to the number on your account — before acting. Customer data is then anonymized: your name, phone number, email, saved addresses, location and the text of your reviews are removed, while past order records are kept as figures only, with no link to you, for tax and accounting. For shop owners, the shop is removed and owner details are erased, with order and payment records retained as required for tax and the platform's commission history.
10. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
